I once heard a line on a podcast that hit me like a freight train:
“Who do you want to be the day you open the door to your 40th birthday?”
I couldn’t tell you anything else from that episode—but that question? It changed everything.
THE BEFORE —
At the time, I was wearing a lot of hats:
Wife. Mom. Daughter. Friend. Cousin.
Teacher. Sign language interpreter.
Drybar enthusiast. Fashion lover.
Employee at a Fortune 500 company.
Recovering perfectionist. Dreamer of “more.”
And while I loved all of those roles, something inside me knew... I didn’t want to walk into 40 feeling like I was constantly juggling pieces of myself.
THE SHIFT
So I started evolving—but not in the hustle, grind, juice-cleanse kinda way.
This evolution was softer.
Mindset-first. Heart-first.
Letting go of expectations and reconnecting with the version of me who still believed in magic.
